Receptionists make the most of patient appointments with GP's and nurses, like all practice staff they are bound by confidentiality, and are asked by doctors to ask patients reasons for their appointment requests. Please help our receptionists help you if they ask you for information when you call.

MAKING APPOINTMENTS WITH A DOCTOR

You can book appointments in advance by telephoning Scalloway 880219.

If an appointment is required on the day please call at 8.30am as we reserve a number of appointments for patients the same day as they call.  You may have a little while to wait as it is a queuing system please be patient and stay on the line, if you lay down the phone you go to the back of the queue.

Should the surgeries be full, urgent appointments may be fitted in at the discretion of the consulting GP.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS

telephoneTelephone Consultations are available and may be appropriate for chronic illness, discussing test results, some follow-on sick lines, medication queries and advice on how to treat minor ailments.

If you think you would like a telephone consultation, please advise reception when you book.  Please note reception staff may need to ask you about the nature of your problem in order to assess whether this type of appointment is appropriate.
